Hosting and server log files

This site runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit, the server writes technically necessary data to log files: your IP address — shortened in the access log, the last block is set to 0; only on technical errors does the error log contain it in full —, date and time, page requested and browser identifier. This serves to deliver the site and fend off attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement with Hetzner is in place. Log files are deleted after 8 days at the latest.

No cookies, no third-party services

The site sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services. Fonts are served from this server.

Web analytics with Umami

To see how many people visit the site and which sections interest them, we use the open-source software Umami. It runs on our own server at Hetzner (data processing agreement as above); nothing is sent to the developers of Umami.

For every page view the following is processed: page requested, referring page, browser and version, operating system, device type, screen size, browser language, approximate location (country, and where available region and city, derived from the IP address) and time. From your IP address, browser identifier, website ID and a regularly changing secret value, the server calculates an anonymous identifier that only groups the page views of one visit; it does not recognise you over longer periods. Your IP address is used for this in memory only and is not stored in the statistics. No cookies, no user IDs, no cross-site tracking, no profiles, no advertising.

The script stores nothing on your device and only reads whether you have switched the statistics off; we therefore do not ask for consent under § 25 TDDDG. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our interest being to improve the site. The aggregated figures are kept indefinitely; they contain nothing that identifies you.

Switching off: the button stores the entry “umami.disabled” in your browser’s local storage, after which the script sends nothing. The same button removes it again.

Email

If you write to us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed and no retention obligation applies. The mailbox is also hosted by Hetzner.

Links to other sites

Links to other sites, such as GORA Navigation or the source of the point cloud, only load anything from there when you click them. Those sites have their own privacy notices.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.

As of October 2026. The German version is binding.
